April 22-May 1 - Solar Eclipse Glasses Donation Drive

We are excited to announce a new way you can help a community in need by donating your eclipse glasses after use. The Environmental Studies Elective are collecting solar eclipse glasses from Monday April 8th’s solar eclipse. All of the eclipse glasses will go to students in Chile and Argentina who are most likely unable to receive the resources they need to view the Annual Solar Eclipse, the Ring of Fire Eclipse in October. Not only will it help by eliminating waste, it will also help repurpose these glasses for a great cause.

You can help by bringing your glasses into St. Mary’s Parish School. Students, you can bring your glasses to your classroom and put them in a box provided by the Environmental Studies elective. Parish Members, you can bring your glasses to the information center. Lastly, parents can bring their glasses to the office or give them to your child to put in their classes box! Be sure to ask friends, family, and even neighbors, for their eclipse glasses. We will be collecting the  glasses from April 22nd- May 1st. Once the drive is complete, we will be shipping all of the glasses we collected to Utah. From there, all of the glasses that were collected across the Nation will be sent out to those in Latin America. We encourage all who have the glasses to donate them to this cause. Thank you to all of those who are considering donating, students in Latin America will be very grateful for this opportunity.
