Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, God gives us a deepening of the grace we received at Baptism and pours out the Holy Spirit upon us in the same way he poured out the Holy Spirit upon the apostles at Pentecost.  In doing so, He gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the Catholic faith by our words and actions.

In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, teens must be at least 16 years old in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.  To enter into Confirmation prep at
St. Mary, teens are expected to actively participate in either Life Teen (parish high school ministry) or theology courses at a Catholic school for a full year prior to and the year of preparation for the sacrament.

Teens preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation are expected to fully participate in the Confirmation Preparation Program, including all formation, retreat, and service components.  Teens complete much of Confirmation Preparation with their sponsor, their chosen mentor for their faith journey.
