Southwest Interfaith Neighborhood Outreach Program

The Southwest Interfaith Program is a non-profit organization that helps older adults over the age of 60. SW Interfaith provides services to those who need them.

Our mission is to provide services for older adults so they can remain in their homes or apartments as long as possible and as long as they wish to be there. Funding for Southwest Interfaith is provided primarily by congregations, who are members of Interfaith, several organizations, an occasional fund raiser, and individual donations.

Services include transportation to medical appointments, grocery store, hair appointments, bank, drug store, etc. Other services include friendly visits to the homebound on a regular basis, minor home repairs, lawn work and snow removal.

There is no fee involved for any of these services and there are no income requirements.

Volunteer Opportunities

Many of the SW Interfaith volunteers are retired but active and are looking for a meaningful experience in their lives. Others work full time but are available on the weekends. They all enjoy the flexibility of the program because they help when it's convenient for them. It's like being "on call." If they're available, that's great. It not, there will be a next time.

Volunteers provide direct services, i.e. transportation, visits to the homebound on a regular basis, and home chores. Other opportunities include help with fundraising activities, office work, and assisting clients with paperwork.
