Baptism is the celebration of initiation into the Body of Christ. It is the liturgical expression of the individual’s desire (or those responsible for her/him) to be a member, and the Church to accept that person as a member. It is the union of baptized people that makes up the Church.
If you would like to have your baby Baptized, please contact the Parish Office during the first trimester of pregnancy, or if you are adopting, then as soon as you know that your child will be coming so that we can journey with you through the preparation for Baptism. Prerequisites for Baptism involve Parish membership and participation in a Baptism Preparation class.
As a point of information, only one sponsor is required for Baptism; custom places the number at two. Baptized non-Catholic Christians may be sponsors at a Catholic baptism as long as one of the sponsors is a practicing Catholic. The primary sponsor must be confirmed and at least 16 years of age.
Contact the Parish Office to register your child for baptism and/or to get more information.
